Letter #1 - Why I Am Writing These Letters

Over the past several months, my life has changed in ways I never expected.

Living with Stage 4 kidney disease and preparing for a transplant has asked me to slow down, to pay attention, and to move through each day with a different kind of awareness.

Some days feel steady.
Some feel uncertain.
Most feel like a mix of both.

What I’ve come to understand during this time is that I am not walking through this season alone.

There are people who have shown up for me in ways both big and small — friends who check in, family who stands beside me, doctors who guide me, and even people who may never meet me but are part of this journey.

I started writing these letters as a way to say thank you.

Not just in passing, but in a more intentional way.

Each letter is written to someone, or a group of people, who has helped carry me through this season of life.

Some of them will read these words. Others may never see them.

But each of them has shaped the path I am walking.

These letters have become a way for me to pause, to reflect, and to notice what matters most.

It has helped me stay grounded in gratitude, even on the harder days.

My hope is that these letters might also resonate with others, anyone who is navigating their own season of uncertainty, change, or healing.

We all move through seasons in life.

This is mine.

With Love,
Missy
